THE WOOD
Wendellwood is Northern White Cedar ( Thuja occidentalis ). It is milled with no pith "heartwood" and is of high quality with few ( if any ) knots or defects.
THE GUYS
Wendell has been kiln drying cedar for decoy carving for over 22 years. He has expertly ( UMO forestry grad, Dead River Forester) found and had cedar milled just for carving. He has always done this alone and had a small operation.
In 2008 He had "rumor" retired from decoy carving and supplying wood. That lasted a few months, until he joined with Warnock Woodworks. Now with some new help, Wendellwood was formed.
Mike a UMO Forest Management grad, urban forester, now woodworking and carpentry, knows a little bit about wood. But he is the brawn of the operation that keeps this possible. He has also brought Wendellwood into the computer age ( you'll still get your tally on a shingle though).
Carl a long time customer turned friend, turned affiliate. An active carver from Southern Maine who will be stocking Wendellwood for sale from his shop.
